Betty Voss, Age 46, Dies

Mrs. Betty A. Voss of Cedar Falls passed away on Saturday, September 27, at her home in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church, Dike, on Wednesday, October 1, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Shirley Textor and Robert Jacobsen officiated.

Craig DeBerg sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art." He was accompanied by Mrs. John Paige, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Kevin Cross, Greg Miller, Les Clemens, Ben Clapp, Melvin Cathcart and Norman Brown.

The ushers were John Volberding and Edgar Abels. Mrs. Gale Gast, Mrs. Robert Cain and Mrs. Ben Clapp were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Relatives and friends were invited to return to the church following the committal services for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshments.

Mrs. Voss was born on January 14, 1940, at Marshalltown, the daughter of D. E. (Gene) and Lois Clemens Cathcart. She attained the age of 46 years, eight months and 13 days.

As a small girl, her family moved to Dike and she attended and graduated from the Dike High School in 1958. After high school, she worked at various stores in Cedar Falls and Waterloo.

On November 3, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, she was united in marriage to Chris "Tub" Voss. They were later divorced.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Kimberly) Cross of Cedar Falls; her parents, D. E. (Gene) and Lois Cathcart of Dike; one sister, Mrs. Beverly Voss, of Cedar Falls; and two brothers, Robert Cathcart of Delaware, AR and Dick Cathcart of Reedsburg, WI.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Dike Funeral Chapel, Dike, was in charge of the arrangements.
