Elda E. Ubben, 80

Elda E. Ubben, 80, of Hampton, died Friday, March 2 at the Franklin General Nursing facility in Hampton.

Funeral services were Monday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Rev. Gregory Smith officiated.

Elda was born February 5, 1921 in Tripoli the daughter of Siegfried and Anna Wiese Struck. She attended country schools near Tripoli.

She was united in marriage to Rube Ubben on February 5, 1977 in the Little Brown Church. She worked as a waitress at the Skandia Inn in Hampton and Norwesco in Grundy Center. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ. She enjoyed bingo, flowers, baking and sewing.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Kay and husband Neal Jay Fischer of Dike; two sisters, Lucinda Wille of Denver and Dorothy Brundenburg of Waverly; and two grandchildren, Eric and Kimberly Fischer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one son, Larry; one sister, Erna Hennings; and two brothers, Gottfried and Ewald Struck.
