Rites Held For Dorothea Hall

Mrs. Melvin (Dorothea) Hall, Sr., of R4, Cedar Falls, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held at the First Church of the Nazarene, Cedar Falls, on Friday, January 31, at 2 p.m. Pastor Don C. Gadbow officiated.

Wendy Heath sang "Farther Along" and "What A Day That Will Be." The congregation sang "Count Your Blessings." The accompanist was Paul Varce, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Herbert Bosley, Robert Hall, Mike Hall, Gary Smith, Jim Smith and Ron Michaelsen.

Ushers were Lee Dix and Eugene Rittgers. Mrs. Marcia Michaelsen, Mrs. Helen Bosley and Mrs. Judith Spragle were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Relatives and friends were invited to Baker Hall following the committal services for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshments.

Mrs. Hall was born January 28, 1924, at Spencer, NE, the daughter of Wilbur William and Clara Helen Graves King. She attained the age of 62 years.

She grew up in Nebraska and on January 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to Melvin Lee Hall, Sr., Venus, NE. On December 1, 1950, they made their home between Dike and Cedar Falls, where they lived for the past 35 years. She was employed at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls as an O.B. Technician for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1979.

She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Falls, where she was in charge of the nursery on Sundays. She was also a member of the Waterloo Chapter of the Lupus Support Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Marjorie La Mae, age 3; one grandson; and by her twin sister.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Lee Hall, Sr., RR4, Cedar Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Mabel Kruger of Hartington, NE, Mrs. Darrell (Ruth) Wright of Waterloo and Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Lundstrom of Bourbon, MO; three sons, Melvin Lee Hall Jr., of Glendale, AZ, Loren Hall of Waterloo and Kenneth Hall of Dike; one sister, Mrs. Ernest (Lucille) Coughman of Portland, OR; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Dike Funeral Chapel in Dike was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
