A private family graveside inurnment will take place at the Oak Wood Cemetery in Ackley, following visitation. Donald Dean Nederhoff was born November 29, 1953 in rural Grundy county to Gratus and Dena (Neihaus) Nederhoff. He graduated from Wellsburg Community High School. On June 1, 1974 Donald was united in marriage to Faye Jean Peters at the Eldora Assembly of God in Eldora, Iowa. Don was a truck driver for over twenty years.

Don was a talker. You knew when he was feeling good because he was especially ornery and outspoken. He could come across as gruff and gave everyone a hard time, but if someone needed help, they could absolutely count on him. In the fall, Donald loved to hunt and give out venison sticks from his deer hunting. When it got cold out, you could find him raising a ruckus at Eldora Bowl. The rest of the year, Donald could be thought of as a modern-day cowboy. He loved to travel from place to place and spend time on the road. He enjoyed his job as a truck driver because he got to see new places and meet all manner of people. At the end of the day, he wanted to be home with his wife Faye and their little pup, Prince. Donald was a teddy bear wrapped in steel, hard on the outside but a softy on the inside. As his sister Harriet would put it, he was her favorite brother. His booming voice and his big bear hugs will be missed.
"Don't fence me in." - Roy Rogers.

Donald Nederhoff is survived by his wife, Faye Nederhoff of Ackley, Iowa; his siblings, Harriet (Harley) Off of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Donna (Kelly) Kramer of Aplington, Iowa; his in-laws family including, Darrell (Frances) Peters of Eldora, Iowa, William (Jane) Peters of Alden, Iowa, Daniel (Sue) Peters of Osceola, Iowa, Marie (Mike) Bachman of Osage, Iowa, Gladys (Colin) Keipper of VanWert, Ohio and Denise Peters of Eldora, Iowa.
