Services Held For Harmon R. Boike

Funeral services for Harmon Robert Boike, 71, were held at the Dike United Methodist Church on November 27 at 2 p.m. Rev. Shirley Textor conducted the services. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.

Casket bearers were Mr. Boike's grandsons, Jeffrey Engel, Daniel Harris, Randall VanSchoyck, Clifford Mohling, Mark Harris, Matthew Engel and Scott VanSchoyck.

Mr. Boike was born near Stout, IA on November 10, 1913 to Henry L. and Jennie VanHauen Boike. He passed away at 2:55 p.m. November 24, 1984 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was united in marriage to E. Joyce Burris on May 31, 1937 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He farmed in Grundy county all of his adult life. He was a member of the Dike United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Harris of Omaha, NE, Mrs. Gerald (Judith) Mohling and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Heine both of Cedar Falls; one son, James Boike of Dike; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Oscar, one son, Curtis and one grandson, Gregory Harris.
