Services Held Wednesday For Wanda Fischer

Mrs. Wanda W. Fischer of Dike passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at the Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church, Dike, on Wednesday, November 26, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Shirley Textor officiated.

Musical interludes of "How Great Thou Art" and "For All The Saints" were rendered by Mrs. John Paige, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Glen Stumberg, John Perry, Maryln Hulseman, Donald King, Ralph Immings and Frederick Zimmerman.

The ushers were Jack Heritage and John Volberding. Mrs. Maurine Stewart and Mrs. Lorraine Timmer were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Relatives and friends were invited to return to the church following the committal services for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshments.

Mrs. Fischer was born on April 30, 1918, in Meservey, the daughter of Ralph Johnson Waddingham and Minnie June Hartwig Waddingham. She attained the age of 68 years, six months and 20 days.

She grew up in Hampton and graduated from Hampton high school in 1935. On March 30, 1940, at Hampton, she was united in marriage to Cornelus J. Fischer. After their marriage, they lived in Cedar Falls until 1950, when they moved and made their home in Dike.

While living in Cedar Falls, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and later while living in Dike, she became a member of the United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She was very active in the Republican Party and active in the Boy Scots of America and the P.T.A. of Dike.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, on May 19, 1975; and one daughter, Pamela, age 4, in 1958.

She is survived by three sons, Neal J. and Jon of Dike and Gene of York, NE; three daughters, Mrs. Carol Kelley of Dike, Mrs. Mary Goldenstein of Texarkana, TX And Mrs. Jane Shea of Waterloo; one brother, Lloyd W. Waddingham of Bismarck, ND; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
