Services Tue. For Mrs. Clara Vogel

Memorial services were held last Tuesday morning, Dec. 19, in Cedar Falls for Mrs. John Volberding's mother, Mrs. Clara Vogel, 83. Mrs. Vogel passed away of complications of age at the Western Home in Cedar Falls early last Saturday morning.

The Tuesday services were held at the Western Home chapel and Rev. Robert Hoover, Jr. of the United Methodist Church of Dike, officiated. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery at Dike. Pallbearers were Jack Heritage, O. J. Olson, James Erpelding, Albert Lauterbach, Ben Clapp and D. E. Cathcart.

Clara Yoesel was born on Aug. 22, 1889, in Falls City, Neb., the daughter of John and Kathrine Yoesel, Sr. She was married to Edward E. Vogel in Falls City, Neb., on Dec. 28, 1911. They lived for a time in St. Joseph, Mo. and in 1925 moved to Blockton, Ia. and then later to Clearfield, Ia. Mr. Vogel operated a General Store in both Blockton and Clearfield. In 1940 they moved to the Grundy Center area where Mr. Vogel was associated with the Register and Tribune subscription business and then was a Fuller Brush salesman for a number of years. They moved to Cedar Falls in 1954. Mr. Vogel passed away on Sept. 19, 1963.

Mrs. Vogel moved to the Western Home in 1965. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Dike.

Survivors include one daughter, Maxine, Mrs. John Volberding of Dike; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Kitzenberger of St. Joseph, Mo.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, one son, three sisters and three brothers.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
