Mrs. Andersen Rites Friday

Funeral services were held last Friday morning, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church for Mrs. E. K. Andersen, 76.

Mrs. Andersen passed away at the Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1974 at 12:30 p.m. of a coronary failure. She had been a patient at the hospital for 23 days.

Reverends Bob and Jo Hoover officiated at the services. Mrs. John Paige played selected organ numbers for the prelude and postlude. Ushers were John Mulder and Russell Hohenberger. The flower attendants were Mrs. Naomi Roberts and Mr. Lawrence Mark.

Pallbearers were Curtis Hansen, Craig Hansen, Kenn Bourquin, Scott Bourquin, Randy Miller and Gary Borwig. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Ladies of the church served lunch following the committal services.

Eleonora Anderson was born April 18, 1898 in Barby, Sweden, the daughter of Martin and Ida Hawkins Anderson. She came to America with her mother at the age of two years, and lived in Titonka, Ia. She was united in marriage to E. K. "Sno" Andersen at Council Bluffs on August 25, 1920. They lived in Council Bluffs, Mason City, Iowa Falls and then moved to Dike in 1925 where they continued to live. Mr. Andersen passed away on Jan. 26, 1974.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Dike; the United Methodist Women's organization; the Eastern Star; White Shrine; Dike American Legion Auxiliary and Grand Study Club.

Mrs. Andersen is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Emil (Loriane) Bock of 1900 Four Winds Drive, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Dean (Verna) Bourquin of Geneva; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter.

The Dike Funeral Chapel who had charge of the arrangements held public viewing at the Chapel from 5 p.m. Thursday evening till 9:30 a.m. Friday morning at which time the casket was taken to the church for viewing prior to the services. A memorial fund has been established.
