Hilda H. Miller, 86

Hilda Henrietta Miller, 86, died May 23 at the Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo. Funeral services were May 26 at the United Methodist Church in Dike. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.

Hilda was born February 5, 1918, in New Hartford, the daughter of Peter and Grace (Freese) Pruisner. She graduated from New Providence High School. On June 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lyman C. Miller at Salem Lutheran Church, north of Fern. He died May 14, 1961. She owned and operated a beauty shop out of her home in Dike until 1968 and then went to work in the housekeeping department at the University of Northern Iowa until her retirement in 1975.

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Becky (Doug) Bruce of Cedar Falls; sons, Randy (Pat) Miller of Davenport and Loren (Bobby) Miller of Oakwood, TX; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernie (Dee) Pruisner of Sumner.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; an infant daughter, Michelle; brothers, Henry and Peter Jr. Pruisner; and sister, Rene Randall.
