Waterloo--Mickey J. Rand, 42, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 21, at home of natural causes.

He was born June 19, 1966, in Janesville, son of George and Ruby Hill Rand. He married Doreen Freet on June 20, 1986, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1984 and served in the U.S. Army from 1987 to 1990 as a specialist E4P.

Preceded in death by: his father; and a daughter, Laura Rand.

Survived by: his mother, Ruby Rand of Waterloo; his wife; a son, Tyler of Waterloo; a brother, Jerry (Sandra) of Waterloo; and five sisters, Sheryl (Joe) Beenken of Waverly, Sandy (Nick) Truog of West Plaines, Mo., Cindy (Thomas) Wells of Rock Island, Ill., Merlene (John) Freet of Princeton, Ill., and Lynn (Kevin) Heckmann of Shellsburg.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
