Rites Held For Ralph Knudsen

Ralph Knudsen, 59, of Waterloo, passed away on Saturday, August 18, at the V.A. Medical Center in Iowa City.

Graveside committal services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.

Dr. Gary L. Armstrong of the Dike United Methodist Church officiated.

Ralph L. Knudsen, the son of Leo and Marian Sorensen Knudsen, was born November 5, 1930, in Cedar Falls. He grew up on a farm south of Dike and graduated from the Dike High School in 1950.

Ralph served in the U.S. Army from February 12, 1952, to February 11, 1954.

While in the service, Ralph was united in marriage to Florence Plock in Pittsburgh, PA. After the service, they moved to Cedar Falls, where he worked as a carpenter in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area until the time of his death.

In 1980, Ralph moved and made his home in Waterloo.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Ralph is survived by five children, Tim and Sherri, both of Waterloo, Ralph Jr., of New Hartford, Cindy, of Bartlesville, OK, and Russell of Waverly; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Donald E. Knudsen, of Dike.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
