Rites Friday For John J. Peters

John J. Peters, 74, of Dike died at the Allen Memorial hospital early Tuesday morning, February 26, following surgery.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, at 1:30 at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Don VanGent will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Dike. Public viewing may be done Wednesday evening after 6:30 p.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday when the body will be taken to the church for viewing before the service. A memorial fund has been established. Arrangements are in charge of the Dike Funeral Chapel.

Survivors are his widow, Elizabeth; 7 sons, Herbert, LeRoy, Minn.; Duane, Dike; Edwin, Albert Lea, Minn.; Donald, Cedar Falls; Ivan, Batavia; LaVerne, Cleveland, Ohio and Ronald, Tripoli; also four daughters, Miss Lorraine Peters, at home; Mrs. Andrew (Lois) Muller, Cedar Falls; Mrs. James (Marian) Bundy, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Vernon (Marlys) Petersen, Cedar Falls, also 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, five sisters, one daughter, and three grandchildren.
