Florence Olson Services Held

Florene Olson, 83, formerly of Dike, passed away on Thursday, July 10, at her daughter's home in Cedar Falls.

Private family graveside services were held on Monday, July 14, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Dike United Methodist Church or the Cedar Valley Hospice.

Florence was born on January 3, 1914, in Armstrong the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Rasmusson) Johnson. On July 15, 1935, she was united in marriage to Orville Olson in Moline, Illinois. They had three daughters, Joan, Alice and Pat.

Florence and Orville were longtime residents of Dike and moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1975, where they resided for ten years. She returned to Iowa in 1992 and resided with David and Alice Bullers.

She was a member of the Dike United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville in 1985; her parents; and a brother, Ernest Johnson.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Joan Smalley and Alice Bullers, both of Cedar Falls and Pat Roark of Denver, Colorado; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

The Dike Funeral Chapel in Dike was in charge of the arrangements.
