Obituary
Hazel Edna Hall Jacobsen was born in Lehigh, Iowa on October 26, 1892, the daughter of Edwin G. and Mary A. Hall. She departed this life on the morning of October 5, 1962 in Mott, N.D. She was the eldest of three children, Olive, Arthur and Hazel.

The Lehigh public schools furnished her early education and she was graduated from the high school there. In 1920 she received her B.A. degree from the State College of Iowa in Cedar Falls, with high honors.

Teaching was her profession, serving high schools in Dumont, Jesup and Dike. During summer sessions, she taught mathematics in the State College as an assistance to Dr. Condit. Hazel was a genuine friend of young people and her happiest moments were spent in their company.

On October 25, 1923 at Mason City, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Jacob Jacobsen of Dike. They made their home in Dike for a few years, later moving to Mott, N.D.

Her parents, her brother and sister, and in 1957, her husband, preceded her in death.

Hazel was a true Christian, a member of the Methodist church in Mott and an ardent worker in the Woman's Society of Christian Service as long as she was able. Her teaching of Sunday school classes continued from early girlhood until her health failed about four years ago.

She held the office of State President of the WCTU in N.D. and worked tirelessly in that organization.

She leaves to mourn her departure, two nephews, Harry and Richard Cox of California, Mrs. Arthur Hall, St. Petersburg, Florida and other relatives in addition to scores of friends in N.D. and Iowa.
