Former Hardware Merchant at Dike Died From Cancer
D. H. Hagerman died Monday evening at 5:30 at his home in Dike after suffering several weeks with cancer and heart trouble.
He was born Oct. 25, 1863, at Hebersville, Pa., and came to Iowa with his parents at the age of 3. They settled on a farm near Hudson where he spent his early life.
Dec. 30, 1891, he was married to Miss Sadie Wilson at Hudson where he was in the furniture business for a number of years. In 1900 they moved to Dike, entering the hardware business. He retired about ten years ago.
He leaves his widow and seven brothers and sisters. They are: George Hagerman of Brewster, Minn.; Etna William of Brewster, Minn.; Jim Hagerman of Verndale, Minn.; Edgar Hagerman of Canada; Aleda Hagerman of Waterloo; Maud Gardner of Waterloo, and Mrs. Rushia Williams of Worthington, Minn.
Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. F. W. Voss of the German Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in the Dike cemetery.
The body was taken to the Gange funeral home at Reinbeck.
