Mrs. V. A. Chase Fatally Injured

Mrs. V. A. Chase, age 72, was struck by a car near her home in Cedar Falls Sunday evening at 7:45 and fatally injured. She lived but a short time after being taken to the Sartori hospital. Both legs were broken, she was hurt internally and had numerous cuts and bruises on her head and body.

Mrs. Chase was born Feb. 6, 1873, in Grundy county, daughter of Andrew and Metta Larsen. She spent her entire life in Grundy county with the exception of one year in New Hartford and the last year in Cedar Falls.

Miss Anna Larsen married V. A. Chase in Grundy county April 2, 1902. They made their home on their farm three miles north of Dike until two years ago. Two children preceded her in death, a daughter, Viola, and son, Norman. Mrs. Chase is the last of a family of seven children. She leaves besides her husband, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lars Larsen of Los Angeles, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Chase was a member of the Fredsville Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Dahl Funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Fredsville Church with Rev. Holger Nielsen of Cedar Falls officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery at Dike.
