Funeral Services For Ruth Koch, 64, In Waterloo, Saturday

Funeral services for Ruth Koch, 64, were held last Saturday, April 9, 1977 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Waterloo.

She was born on a farm south of Dike on Aug. 15, 1912, the daughter of Nels and Cora Lee Ahrendt. When a small child her family moved to Dike which was her home until her marriage to Elmer Koch on Jan. 5, 1938. They lived on a farm near Reinbeck til moving to Waterloo in 1948.

In Dec. 1948, Ruth fell on the icy steps at her home and suffered a compound fracture of her ankle. After 6 years and 20 operations Ruth submitted to amputation of her leg.

Approximately 12 years ago she was baptized into the Adventist faith which was the source of her courage and comfort during many more years of operations and pain.

She passed away at her home last Wednesday afternoon, April 6th at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 22 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Besides one aunt and numerous cousins (area cousins are Mrs. Al (Della) Kristensen and Laurence Koch both of Dike and Mrs. Al (Vera) Camarata of Cedar Falls), she is also survived by a brother, Everett, in Chicago.

Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery at Dike.
