Jeanette Freese Services Held

Jeanette Rose Freese, of Dike, passed away Sunday, June 21, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Grundy Center of natural causes. She attained the age of 86 years, 1 month and 14 days.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Dike. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. Pastor Rick Johnson officiated. A memorial fund has been established.

Jeanette was born on May 7, 1912, in rural Grundy County the daughter of Chris and Grace (Pabst) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Cornelius Earl (C.E.) Freese on June 19, 1937, at Dike. She worked on the family farm with her husband.

Jeanette was a member of the Dike United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius; parents; a step-great-grandson, Dean Allen Freese; a brother, John C. Johnson; 2 sisters, Marian Hanson and Gacina Freese; 2 step-brothers, Chris and Conrad Henze; and 2 step-sisters, Augusta Hasbrouch and Leona Krahulec.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Harold and wife Bonnie Freese of Traer and Roger and wife Peggy of Dike; a step-son, Charles and wife Iva Dean Freese of Holland; a step-daughter, Ruth and husband Eldon Rindels of Dike; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 3 step-grandsons; 1 step-granddaughter; 10 great-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Viola Butler of Grundy Center.

Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
