NEW HARTFORD--Leslie B. Boike, 101, of the Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, died there Sunday, May 27, 2012.

He was born May 10, 1911, in Dike, Iowa, the son of Harm and Emma (Saathoff) Boike. He married Helen Force December 1, 1941, in Lancaster, Missouri. She died August 21, 2010.

Mr. Boike served in the United States Army during World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts. He was employed at Hawkeye Steel for 28 years.

Survived by: one sister, Minnie Ruthenberg of Cedar Falls.

Preceded by: one brother, Herman Boike and two sisters, Mabel Henningsen and Harriett Boike.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls, with interment in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the home. Military honors provided by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
