DIKE--Wilma R. Freese, 87, of Dike, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at her home.
She was born October 16, 1928 in Grundy Center, Iowa, daughter of William and Tillie (Weseman) Noel. She married Richard C. Freese on May 5, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He died December 20, 2008.
She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1946 and was a telephone operator in Cedar Falls and Grundy Center. She also worked at Montgomery Wards until their closing.
Survived by: three sons, Gary of Cedar Falls, Billy of Dike, and Ricky (Teri) of Brooklyn, IA; eight grandchildren: Josh (Liz) Freese, Darcey (Lee) Reynolds, Shelby (Rob) Mensen, Trenton Freese, Nichole (Chris) Hurst, Ashley (Kyle Lakker) Freese, Zach Freese; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brady Reynolds, Adeline Hurst and Delaney Freese; a niece, Barbara (Ben) Tuggle of Cobert, Georgia; and two sisters-in-law, Agnes Freese of Cedar Falls and Doris Freese of Virginia.
Preceded in death by: two brothers, Joe and George Noel; three sisters, Jeanette, Leona, and Gladys; a nephew, Bob Hull; and a grandchild, Clancey Freese.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and also for one hour prior to the service Friday.
