Mrs. Ben Whitney

Mrs. Ben Whitney, 2021 Rainbow Dr., died in Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo at 5:50 p.m. Sunday following a long illness. Death was due to a heart condition.

She was born Josephine Elliott at Grundy Center June 13, 1883. She was married to Ben F. Whitney at Grundy Center Mar. 21, 1906. They engaged in farming in Lincoln township, Grundy county, where they continued to live for many years.

Survivors include her husband, a daughter and three sons: Mrs. Raymond Cox, Fairbank; Roger and Max of Janesville, and Ben Jr. of Dike. Sisters surviving are Mrs. Charles Wright, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Can.; Mrs. G. A. Reisinger, 139 Linwood, Waterloo; Mrs. Pearl Smith, Hudson; Mrs. Jack Smith, Grundy Center; and Mrs. Monte Wells, Chino, California. There are five grandchildren.

Mrs. Whitney attended the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dahl Funeral Home.
