Obituary Arend C.[sic] Abbas
Arend G. Abbas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Abbas, was born the 26th of September, 1904, near Aplington in Butler county. His mother survives him, but his father preceded him in death by 20 years. On February 22, 1929, he was married to Miss Lizzie Bunk, who now survives him with three children, Nellie Arlene, Adeline Ruth, and George Alvin. A sister, Remda, preceded him in death by 28 years. He leaves two brothers, John and George, and one sister, Martha (Mrs. Wm. W. DeBoer). Many other relatives and friends mourn his passing.
On Friday, March 17, he submitted to an appendectomy. The operation seemed to be a success, but instead of regaining his strength, he became weaker. Still there did not seem to be cause for alarm. Thus his passing was sudden and unexpected. He died early Saturday morning, March 25, very quietly.
