Andrew Kruger Funeral Monday

Services for Andrew D. Kruger, 68, of 502 S.E. Third st., who died of cancer Friday at Wilden Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home with burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Kruger had been ill one year.

He was born in Grundy Center and lived in Des Moines from 1927 until 1947 and returned in 1961.

He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers until retiring three years ago.

He attended Iowa State University at Ames and was a member of Arcadia Lodge 249, Ames, Temple Commandery 4, Des Moines, and the Royal Archmasons. He was a member of the Altoona Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Signe; three half-brothers, Tyle and Bryan Huisman, both of Wellsburg and Harm Huisman of Buffalo Center, and two half-sisters, Mrs. William Van Deest and Mrs. Joseph Demcke, both of Wellsburg.

Andrew Kruger, 68, Dies In Altoona Hospital Friday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the funeral home at Des Moines for Andrew Kruger, 68, who died Friday afternoon at the Wilden hospital at Altoona where he had submitted to surgery about ten days before. His death was attributed to carcinoma. Interment was made in the Glendale cemetery at Des Moines.

Survivors are his wife, also two half-sisters, Mrs. Joe Dimke and Mrs. Wm. Van Deest of Grundy Center, and three half-brothers, Bryan and Tyle Huisman of Wellsburg, and Harm Huisman of Buffalo Center.

The Krugers had resided in Altoona for the past four years. They had lived in Des Moines for twenty years and had also resided in Grand Forks, North Dakota and Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a veteran of World War I.

Attending from here were Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Huisman, Mrs. Eddie Christians, Mrs. Joe Dimke, Don Dimke and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Van Deest and family of Grundy Center, Mr. and Mrs. Tyle Huisman, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Huisman, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Van Deest, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Van Deest, Ben Van Deest of Alta, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Huisman of Buffalo Center, Mrs. Andrew Kruger of Iowa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Schulte of Manley, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kruger of Bristow, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Freeseman of Parkersburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kruger of Bristow.
