Bonnie Lou Mugge, 64, of Conrad, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown.

Bonnie has chosen to give a valued and honored gift by donating her body to the University of Iowa Medical School. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bonnie and her family.

Bonnie Lou Pence was born on June 5, 1945, in Eldora. She was the daughter of Howard and Alice (Emmert) Pence. She graduated from Beaman Conrad High School in 1963. She attended nursing school at Allen Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1966. On July 10, 1966, Bonnie married Steve Mugge at Ivester Church of the Brethren. Bonnie worked as a nurse at various locations. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, friends, reading, bird watching, and spending time with her grandkids.

She liked to play cards, fishing, and canoeing.

Left to mourn her loss is her husband, Steve, of Conrad; her children Robyn (Douglas) Heisdorffer of Marengo, IA, Mark (Julie) Mugge of St. Charles, IL, and Jeremy Mugge of Union, IA; her grandchildren Nicholas Heisdorffer, Kaitlyn Heisdorffer, Brittany Towne-Mugge, LaTaushia Mugge, Dillon Mugge, Rachel Mugge, and Brandon Roche; her sisters Susan (Clarke) Oestereich of Grundy Center, and Jane (Sue Ladehoff) Kruse of Canyon City, CO; and her parents Howard (Hazel) Pence of Eldora.

In death she rejoins her mother Alice and her brother James Pence.
