Herman Snapp, 77, Rites Set Friday

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2 p.m. from the Ivester Church of the Brethren near Eldora for Herman Snapp, 77, who died Tuesday at his home in Eldora.

Rev. John Ditmars will officiate, with Mrs. LeRoy Cakerice as organist. Flower ladies will be Mrs. Harold Hogle, Mrs. Howard Sheller and Mrs. Charlie Sword. Casket bearers will be Lynn Bausman, Clark Dighton, Everett Forster, Russell Morgan, Martin Schwarck, Charley Sword.

Interment will be in the Sheller Cemetery with Longnecker Funeral Home of Eldora in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Snapp was born in Nebraska February 14, 1895, to Albert and Anna Okones Snapp. He was married to Mary J. Wolfe September 30, 1915, in Grundy county, Iowa. He has lived in the Eldora community for 70 years. He worked at bridge construction for Hardin county for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1958.

Mr. Snapp was affiliated with the Ivester Church and was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife of Eldora; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Skartvedt of Eldora and Mrs. Iris Spilde of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers, Albert of Waterloo, Anna Delp of Hansel and Frances Ellison of Iowa Falls.
