Death of Grandma Meyers

Grandma Meyers died at her home near Whitten at four o'clock Monday afternoon following an illness that lasted the greater part of the year. Funeral services were held at the home at twelve o'clock yesterday and later at the Brethren church at Ivester, where interment was made in the family burial lot.

Mrs. Meyers was 76 years, 6 months and 21 days old at the time of her death. She was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, and she and her husband and family came west in 1875. They lived a year in Marshal before they came to Grundy county. For the past twenty-five years she has resided on her farm in Felix township. Mrs. Meyers' husband died ten years ago. There are eleven surviving children and all were present at the funeral. The children are Henry, Tobias, Joe, Cyrus, Mrs. Ida Freed, Elias from Nashua, Mrs. Mary Vinton from Plainfield, Iowa; Mrs. Lizzie Price, Mrs. Anna Callaway and S. A. Meyers.
