George Schwarck was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schwarck. He was born at Napersville, Ill., Dec. 28, 1864. When the family left Illinois they came to Cedar Falls where they remained but a short time, after which they purchased a farm in Melrose township to which they moved 82 years ago. The farm is a short distance south of Ivester. George was a member of a family of six sons and two daughters, all of whom grew up in Melrose township. Robert Schwarck is the only member of the large family who is still living.
During the many years that George Schwarck resided in Grundy county he made many friends who always found him honest and trustworthy and who held him in high regard.
George Schwarck and Kate Sheller were married 59 years ago. They began life together on the farm south of Ivester, until 1924 when they moved to Cedar Falls. They resided in Cedar Falls 20 years. Ten years ago they returned to Grundy Center and made their home here for nine years. Last year they moved into a new home on their farm in Melrose township.
Surviving are the wife and one daughter, Mrs. Warren Eyre, who with her husband reside on the Schwarck farm.
Funeral services will be held at the Ferree Chapel at one o'clock Thursday, and at two o'clock at the Ivester church. Burial will be in the Sheller cemetery. Rev. C. A. Albin will conduct the services.
