Mary Slifer Died In Hospital

Miss Mary Slifer died in the Grundy hospital at ten o'clock Friday forenoon. She had been a patient in the hospital 10 days before her death. Death was due to advanced age and complications. She had been a hospital patient a number of times during the past two years.

She was born May 25, 1879. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Slifer and resided on a farm in Melrose township nearly all of her life. For a number of years the family lived on a farm adjoining Grundy Center on the west. The parents died many years ago. Since that time the daughter Mary lived by herself on a farm north of the Ivester church, of which she was a member.

Services were held at the Ivester church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. John Ditmars. Burial was in the Sheller cemetery.

Casketbearers were Clarence and Gerald Hogle, Glenn Sheller, Charles Sword, Fred and Ernest Draper.

Surviving is a brother Will, who resides in Denver, Colo.; a nephew, Clarence Slifer, resides in Melrose township.
