Hannah Messer Died At Allen Hosp.

Hannah Caroline Messer died at the Allen hospital in Waterloo on August 17th, following a stroke. The body was brought to the Ferree funeral home in Grundy Center where arrangements were made. Services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Ivester church. The service was conducted by Rev. C. A. Albin. Burial was in the Sheller cemetery.

Miss Messer resided in Grundy county nearly all her life. She was 90 years old. She was born in Benton county, June 9, 1872. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Messer. At the age of 3 she came with her parents to Grundy county. They made their home in southwest Palermo township on a farm which has until recently remained in the Messer name. She had remained on the Grundy farm until recent years. The past few years she was in a convalescent home in Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, 8 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.
