Dale Zeltman Services Held
Everett Dale Zeltman of Eldora, passed away on Saturday, October 10, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City of cancer.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Eldora with Rev. Randall Bach, son-in-law of Dale, officiating. Burial followed in the Sheller Cemetery, rural Grundy County. Full military graveside rites were conducted by Walter-Sayer American Legion Post No. 182 and Roll-Harless V.F.W. No 3974.
A memorial fund has been established.
Dale was born on February 24, 1925, in Eldora the son of William and Rose Bell (Squires) Zeltman. He graduated from Eldora High School in 1943. On March 16, 1947, he was united in marriage to Frances Price in Eldora. Dale served in the Army for two years. Dale was employed in the dry cleaning business and sold insurance for American Family Insurance Company most of his adult years. Later he worked as a night watchman attendant at the Iowa State Training School for 13 years, retiring in 1988. He most recently resided at Eldora Manor Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in 1977; his parents; 1 sister, Lois Balvanz, and 2 brothers, Donald and George Zeltman.
Survivors include his son, Donald Zeltman of Eldora; 3 daughters, Beverly Newton of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Barbara Bach of Dayton, Ohio and Carolyn Paloma of Roseville, Minnesota; 2 sisters, Verna Balvanz of Eldora and Bessie Young of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Ruth Paloma, Rachel Paloma, Christine Reed, Dawn Zeltman and Ryan Bach; 2 great-granddaughters, Ava Paloma and Brittany Reed and 1 great-grandson, Jordan Reed.
The Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora was in charge of the arrangements.
