Maryann Reeder Services Held

Maryann K. Reeder, of Eldora, passed away Saturday, November 25, 1995, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, Iowa, of natural causes, having attained the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 6 days.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 28, 1995, at Ivester Church of the Brethren, rural Grundy Center with Pastor Damon and Sue Wagner-Fields officiating. Burial followed in the Sheller Cemetery in rural Grundy Center.

Pall bearers were Paul Neher, Lyle Neher, Glen Draper, Jay Miller, and Don Butler.

Born December 19, 1906, in Grundy County, Iowa, Maryann was the daughter of Stanley and Byrd (Miller) Meyers. She received her education in North Dakota and Eldora. Following her graduation from Eldora High Schoool, Maryann attended Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls. She taught school in several Iowa communities before her marriage to Thomas D. Reeder on June 12, 1945, in Eldora.

Maryann and Thomas made their home for a few years in Fayette County, then moved to Grundy County where they farmed for many years. She was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren in rural Grundy Center.

Maryann was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Thomas, on October 6, 1995.

Survivors include one son, Doyle Reeder of Eldora.

Memorials may be directed to the Grundy Care Center. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
