Ernest Lau, 94

Ernest Lau, 94, of Gladbrook, died June 23 at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Funeral services were June 27 at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Sheller Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

He was born on May 17, 1911, the son of Richard and Cora Strickler Lau. He received his education in the Ivester area, graduating from Whitten High School in 1928. On December 19, 1939, he was married to Virginia Redix. They farmed for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Sharon (Erroll) Allen; a son, Steven (Ann) Lau; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother; a grandson; and four sisters.
