Last Rites For Fred O. Draper

Funeral services for Fred O. Draper were held at the Andrle & Creps funeral home at Eldora Friday afternoon, November 21. The services were conducted by Rev. Howard H. Keim, Jr., pastor of the Ivester church. Burial was in the Sheller cemetery in Melrose township.

Mr. Draper was among the early residents of Grundy county and all of his active life was spent on a Melrose township farm.

Obituary
Fred, the seventh child of Franklin and Catherine Weber Draper, was born Nov. 1, 1864, at Alden, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Grundy county Nov. 19, 1947.

On December 12, 1894, he was married to Lillie Miller of Eldora, Iowa, and they lived their entire married life in Melrose township. To this union were born seven children, Mrs. Ray Y. Smith of Panora, Iowa, Ernest of Grundy Center, Hazel at home, Mrs. Harold Hogle of Whitten, Fred J. of Grundy Center, Mrs. M. B. Emmons of Clinton, and Frank, who died in infancy.

Mr. Draper is survived by his wife and six children, 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. James Delaney, of Ontario, California.
