In Memoriam of Frank Fredrickson
Frank A. Fredrickson passed away at his home in Steamboat Rock on Saturday evening, Nov. 2, 1957 following an illness that kept him confined to his home for the past 15 months. Had he lived until Dec. 24 he would have been 84 years old.
Mr. Fredrickson was born Dec. 24, 1873 in Polk County, Iowa. He was the son of William Fredrickson and Rebecca Mathis Fredrickson. He was married to Barbara Kennedy of Grundy county on Dec. 3, 1902. The couple farmed in Grundy county for 11 years after which time they moved to Steamboat Rock where they have resided for 44 years. Mr. Fredrickson worked at the carpenter trade in Steamboat for many years, but for the past few years he has been retired. He became a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren when a young man.
He is survived by his wife and their two children. A son, Wesley resides at Santa Maria, Calif., a daughter, Flossie, Mrs. John Lund, lives at San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Elmer Bales, a half-brother, is a resident of Oregon.
Also to mourn his passing are other relatives and many, many devoted friends. The family would like to express a very deep appreciation to all these for the loving kindnesses expressed in so many ways during the illness and death of the husband and father. The Fredricksons value these friendships very highly and are most grateful.
Wesley Fredrickson and Mrs. Lund came by plane on Sunday to be with their mother and attend the funeral services. Mrs. Lund expects to return by plane this weekend, but Wesley will remain longer with his mother here.
Services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Anderle & Creps Funeral Parlors in Eldora with Rev. Charles Albin officiating. Burial was in the Sheller Cemetery at Ivester.
