Michael J. Stephan, 61, of Reinbeck, Iowa died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Reinbeck. A funeral service for Mike will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck.

Michael Joseph Stephan, son of Robert and Jean (Shoup) Stephan was born on November 19, 1956 in Pensacola, Florida. He graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1975. On June 5, 1987, Mike married Sarah Jane Nilles at St. Francis Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa. Mike was employed for several years for Lincoln Equipment in Lincoln, Iowa and farmed for many years in the Reinbeck area. Mike also owned and operated Michael J. Stephan Trucking for over 35 years. Mike enjoyed fishing and most of all driving his semi.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sarah Stephan; parents, Robert and Jean Stephan all of Reinbeck; sister, Rita (Charles) Felton of Granite Falls, MN; brothers, Timothy (Lisa) Stephan of Omaha, NE. and Ronald (Sue) Stephan of Altoona, IA; three nephews and two nieces. In addition to his grandparents, Mike was preceded in death by his three uncles.
