Death of Jacob Johnson

The death of Jacob Johnson occurred at his home in New Hartford Saturday, July 9th, 1921, at 3:00 a.m., from injuries received a few days before when he fell from the roof of Mrs. Belle Wood's house where he was working.

Jacob W. Johnson was born in Denmark in 1857 and came to America when a young lad and settled near Reinbeck, Iowa. He was united in marriage in 1881 to Olive Falor to whom seven children were born, two dying in infancy. He leaves to mourn his departure, his widow, five children, Mae, Clifford, Hayes, Myrtle and Irene, also twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday at the Methodist church in charge of Revs. Lower and Essex. A quartette rendered "Rock of Ages," "Lead Me Gently Home, Father," and "Abide With Me." The pall bearers were William Whitney, R. H. Ward, W. W. Dove, Peter McGrew and Fred Johnson. Burial was in the Fairfield Cemetery.
