Mrs. Whitney Dies at New Hartford

New Hartford, Ia.--Mrs. William Whitney, 85, died at her home here at 4:45 p.m. Monday afternoon after a two weeks illness.

Nellie Freeland was born at Elgin, Ill., May 14, 1852. She was married Oct. 9, 1871, at Elgin. Her husband preceded her in death in 1932.

Mrs. Whitney lived in New Hartford 22 years. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the W.R.C.

Surviving are four sons, Jarvis, Charles and Ben of New Hartford and Ralph of Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs. Mertie Elliott, Aplington.

The body was taken to the Dahl funeral home, Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church in New Hartford. Burial will be in Fairfield cemetery, two miles southwest of New Hartford. The body will be at the Dahl funeral home in Cedar Falls until 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
