Wm. Kenison Passes Away at Home of Son Here
At the home of his son, Geo. D. Kenison, 321 Clay street, last night at 9:30 o'clock, occurred the death of his father, Wm. Kenison. The deceased was born in Canada in 1823 and at the time of his death was 78 years, six months and five days of age. When he was quite young he moved with his parents from Canada to New York, from there to Illinois and 37 years ago came to Iowa. He lived at New Hartford and in that vicinity for a number of years, and after the death of his wife a few weeks ago came to Waterloo to make his home with his son.
Mr. Kenison had been married twice, his first wife dying 29 years ago. His second wife was called to her last reward about five weeks ago. The funeral service will be held at New Hartford tomorrow at 12:30 o'clock and will be conducted by Elder Howard of the M.E. church there. The interment will take place in Grundy county and the body will be laid to rest under a mound between the graves of his wives. Mr. Kenison leaves nine children, five daughters and two sons. Two of the daughters are living in California, one in Minnesota and two in Iowa. The four sons are residents of this state. It is thought all of the children except the daughters in California will be present at the funeral tomorrow.
