Body Of Pfc. Ivan Case Arrived Home

The body of Pfc. Ivan Case, who was killed in action, Dec. 23, 1944, in Luxembourg, was returned home to New Hartford and funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist church here, with Rev. Leonard Fardon officiating. Military committal services were held in Fairfield cemetery, Grundy County, in the family lot.

Private Case entered the service in December 1942. He was sent overseas in June 1944, after completing his training at Camp Claiborne, La., and Camp Howze, Tex.

He had been reported missing in action prior to the final word of his death, Dec. 23, 1944.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Case, he was born Dec. 14, 1914 in New Hartford. He is survived by his parents, a brother, Samuel, Waterloo, five sisters, Mrs. Harland Ackerson, Mrs. Leonard Lehman and Mrs. Larry Sells, all of New Hartfod, Mrs. Lee Sells, Finchford and Mrs. W. M. Cover, Richmond, Cal. One sister preceded him in death.
