Elizabeth Huesman

Funeral services were held Monday, February 15, 1993 at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church for Elizabeth (Lizzie) Huesman, who died February 11 at the Presbyterian Home. Rev. Lee Mashburn officiated at the services. Ramona Harken was organist and vocalist was Richard Schafer. Ushers were Lester Miller and Doug Neymeyer. Casketbearers were Herman Boelts, Mark DeBoer, Meint Huesman, Harley Janssen, Alvin Johnson and Elmer Riebkes. Interment was in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church cemetery. The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Huesman was born August 10, 1896 at Ackley the daughter of Meint K. and Anna VanLoh Huesman. She attended German Township School #2 in Grundy County. She worked as a nurses aide and helped on the Christian A. Janssen farm for many years. Miss Huesman was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid and she taught Sunday School and catechism.

Survivors include a brother, Klaas (Sam) Huesman of Ackley, and two sisters, Esther Janssen of Ackley and Johanna Janssen of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
