Father, grandfather, and Great grandfather was born at Loquart, Ostfriesland, the 8th of May, 1820 where he resided until 1861. Fifty years ago he came to America locating first five years in Illinois, then he chose German township, in Grundy county, Iowa where he spent the last half of his long lifetime. Mr. Lindaman was married to Martha Hanssen and this union was blessed with five sons, John, Henrickus, Jacob, Henry, William and Ben B.
The deceased was a positive professor of his faith in Jesus Christ and on the 25th of April 1911 he fell into a sweet sleep and departed to his reward at the grand age of 90 years, 11 months and 17 days. He is survived by a posterity of 78 members: 6 children, 44 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. On the 28th of April he was buried beside his wife in the cemetery of the Eastfriesland church in the presence of a large assembly after which an appropriate service followed conducted by his pastor who spoke of the lively hope of a Christian using as a text, 1 Peter 1,3-4 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled and that faded not away, reserved in Heaven for you."
