Ackley--Services for Mrs. George Arends, 91, a former resident who died at Covina, Calif., about 24 hours after her daughter, Mrs. Merle Smucker, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church; burial in the church cemetery; survivors include one granddaughter, Mrs. Marlene McElroy of California; one stepson, Dick Arends of Ackley and one stepdaughter, Miss Margaret Arends of California; Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home in charge.
