Mr. Anton Oelman

Many Years a Prominent Resident of German Township; Dead

Funeral services for Anton Oelmann, 75 years of age, who passed away Sunday morning at five o'clock at Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown, where he had been taken a week previously, because of ill health, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at Eastfriesland Presbyterian church, Rev. Calvin Siemson having charge. Burial occurred at the Eastfriesland cemetery adjoining the church.

Mr. Oelmann was born at Oldenberg, Germany, in June, 1863, and came to America when he was a young man. During the past fifty years he has been a resident of northwest Grundy county. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Ellen Gross, Mrs. Chas. Neuberger, and Mrs. Jake Lindaman; by four sons, Arend, Earnest, John, and William, all living near Ackley; fourteen grandchildren. His wife and one son, Henry, preceded him in death.

Mr. Oelmann was a substantial and thrifty farmer, a loving father, and a cheerful, helpful friend, who will be greatly missed.
