Ackley Burial For Maggie Beving, 99

Funeral services were held at the Faith Presbyterian Church of rural Ackley on Tuesday, June 7 for Maggie Beving, 99, formerly of Wellsburg. She died Saturday at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo from an extended illness.

Rev. Lee Mashburn of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church in Ackley officiated. Marvin Richtsmeier was vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Heetland. Flower ladies were Mrs. John VanLoh and Mrs. Thomas Sherfield.

Casket bearers were Wendell Lindaman, Arnold Arends, Frederick Beving, Gerald Willems, James Willems and Urban Jutting with interment in the East Friesland Church Cemetery of rural Ackley. The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg handled arrangements.

Maggie Beving was born on January 1, 1889 in rural Ackley to Antje Roskamp and Gerhard Willems. She received her education in the rural Ackley schools.

She was married to John J. Beving on March 6, 1908 in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church. She and her husband farmed near Wellsburg. In 1983 she moved into the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington where she resided until her death. She was a charter member of the Faith Presbyterian Church of rural Ackley.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951, her parents, two daughters, two sons, four brothers and five sisters. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by a son, LeRoy J. Beving and his wife, Carol, of Wellsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Alyce Luwe and her husband, Vinson, of Grand Junction, Colorado; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a brother, Jake Willems of Ackley.
