Sophie Neuberger

Funeral services were held at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church Monday, Feb. 18 for Mrs. Sophie Neuberger, 90, who passed away Feb. 16. Rev. David Dupee officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Sophie Oelmann Neuberger, daughter of Anton and Anka Arends Oelmann, was born Nov. 13, 1889 in German Township, Grundy County, where she grew up and attended school. She was baptized on Jan. 5, 1890 and became a communicant member of East Friesland Church on March 17, 1906. She was very active in the church where she served as an organist and as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

On March 12, 1918, Sophie was united in marriage to Charles Neuberger. Following their marriage they resided on their Hardin County Farm. For the past seven years, Mrs. Neuberger has been a resident of the Ackley Presbyterian Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Neuberger; her parents; four brothers and one sister. She is survived by one brother, Ernest Oelmann and by one sister, Ellen Gross, both of Ackley.

The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
