Mary enjoyed reading her Bible and other devotional books. She also enjoyed her garden and flowers and along with being a good cook and crocheting afghans that were beautiful she also loved to sew. She won many first prize ribbons for her baked goods at the Four County Fairs that were held in Ackley.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe.

Mary is survived by her three brothers; John R. of Ackley, Fred of Waterloo, and Delbert B. of Wellsburg; seven nieces and two nephews and their families; and a host of friends.
