Ronald R. Kruse

Ronald R. Kruse of Ackley passed away May 26, 2001 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. He was born July 7, 1936 in Iowa Falls, the son of Albert and Anna (Deters) Kruse.

Kruse graduated from Wellsburg High School, and had been a member of the National Guard where he was a Staff Sergeant, an instructor, and an expert with hand guns. He was part owner and assistant manager of the Farmers Elevator Co. Inc. in Ackley, and then the Grain Manager at Farmers Co-op Elevator in Ackley until retiring in January 1998. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley, doing a lot of volunteer work for the church.

Kruse married Mildred Jutting Boelman on Oct. 17, 1974 in Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife; his mother; step-daughter, Bonnie (Wes) Poley of Cedar Falls; and sister, Arlys (Ron) Olson of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother in infancy.

Services for Kruse were held May 30, 2001 at St. John's UCC with Rev. Michael Dack officiating. Burial followed at the Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley. Special military services were conducted by the Elliot-Keninger American Legion Post #252 of Ackley.

The Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of the arrangements.
