ACKLEY--Frederic Lowell Fisher, 84, of Ackley, died Tuesday, June 27, at the Presbyterian Village, Ackley.
He was born Oct. 1, 1921, on the family farm in rural Wellsburg, son of Julius and Elizabeth Roelfs Fisher. He married Shirley Graham on March 1, 1946, in Ackley.
Mr. Fisher graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He farmed the Fisher family farm east of Cleves for 50 years.
Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Jane (Lynn) Bangasser of Ackley and Annette (John) Von Tersch of Cedar Falls; six sons, Jon (Kathy) of Falcon Heights, Minn., Dennis (Marilynn) of Decorah, Alan (Pam) of Rochester, Minn., Richard (Suzette) and Jim, both of Cedar Falls, and Jerry (Lisa) of Ackley; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul of Overland Park, Kan.; and a brother-in-law, Charles Lingren of Brookings, S.D.
Preceded in death by: a sister, Maxine Lingren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Fisher.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at East Friesland Presbyterian Church, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, both in Ackley. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Sietsema Funeral Home, Ackley. Full military rites will be conducted by Elliott-Keninger Post 252 of Ackley.
