Funeral Services For Former Wellsburg Man

Maynard Elwood DeNeui of Fulton, Mo. died Sunday evening at the Barnes hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He was nearly 47 years of age at the time of his death.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1925 at Wellsburg, to Mr. and Mrs. Sander DeNeui. In 1948 he was united in marriage to Miss Helen VanVleck at Cedar Rapids. To this union three children were born including Kathryn, who attends the University of Colorado at Boulder, Richard, who attends the University of Chicago at Chicago, and Marilyn, at home.

Mr. DeNeui was a graduate of the University of Iowa at Iowa City where he received a degree in electrical engineering. He joined Sam D. Ellis Corporation in November of 1951. Later they formed a company called Central Electric Company. At the time of his death Mr. DeNeui was Vice President of the company. He was also a member of the electrical engineering association. He was a member of the school board for 12 years and was president of the school board for eight years. He was a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church at Fulton, and Sunday School superintendent. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and a member of Calloway County Republican Committee of Fulton.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Regina nee Hook DeNeui and Sander DeNeui.

The body laid in state at the Browning Funeral Home in Fulton until the time of the funeral services held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulton. Burial services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Oak Shade Cemetery at Marion, Iowa. Pall bearers were Sam D. Ellis, Henry Niles, Ralph Long, Fred Hopper, L. E. Lewis and Ray Martin.
