Raymond A. Newell

Raymond A. Newell, Cedar Falls, was born December 22, 1916, in Grundy County, to Frank and Myrtle Reynolds Newell.

He graduated from Wellsburg High School. On May 28, 1933, he married Mildred Cakerice in Waterloo.

He died Saturday, October 1, 1994, at the Western Home, Cedar Falls. He was 77.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 3 at the First United Methodist Church, Eldora, with burial in the Eldora City Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Donna and husband Norman Huisman, Wellsburg, and Darla and husband Richard Bebo, Olympia, Washington; three sisters, Alice Anderson and Helen Harms, both of Wellsburg, and Maude Clark, Hubbard; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Maynard; and a sister, Frances Kirkdorffer.

The Creps-Abels Funeral Home, Eldora, was in charge of the arrangements.
